Matthew Colebrook 
Company Owner and Director 

Matthew left Kings College Auckland at the age of 17 to pursue a career in building and construction. During his five years’ apprenticeship, he learned all aspects of building, including joinery and furniture making to the highest quality and standards.

Matthew was born into a family with a long history in forestry, timber and building. From an early age, he wanted to become a great carpenter, and the last 30 years proved that he had made an excellent choice for himself. Thanks to his building career, Matthew had the opportunity to be involved in many exciting projects and adventures including building log houses in Canada, doing a lot of boating and sailing, flying commercially for a regional airline and raising a young family.

His favourite quote is, ‘There is nothing better than building your own home, the best one you could imagine, and living in it with your family!’

​Matthew is the most calm, tidy and talented builder. He has an exceptional eye for detail and his craftsmanship is second to none. He has done several renovations in my house and the results are more than I could have ever hoped for. His experience and established network with others trades meant all jobs were all completed super fast and to the highest standard. It is always a very happy experience to have the Colebrook and Co team working on my house.

James Durand
Site Manager​

James grew up on the West coast of France and has now chosen Wanaka as his home.

James has worked on a wide range of projects that allowed him to develop his skills. He is very passionate about building and genuinely loves helping clients to turn their goals into reality. 
James is a very skilful man. Besides being our trusted site manager, he is a professional baker, fisherman, gold prospector, and gardener. Whenever he is not on-site supervising the building of our clients’ dream homes, he spends all his spare time in the great outdoors.

He loves being part of our team and being involved in such exciting projects.

Charlie Weller
Lead Carpenter and Safety Supervisor

A keen outdoors man and man about town. Excellent fisherman and hunter. Charlie was leading hand on the famed Pukerangi wedge house, and unfortunately relocated back to the UK for now, but we hoping he’ll come back soon.

Grant Dalbeth
Foreman, Leader of the Arrowtown Team

Grant has returned home after all kinds of adventures in Europe and brings a wealth of international experience and knowledge of building to the team.

​From renovation work in the south of France to projects in the French Alps and Geneva.

Grant's eye for details sees him interested in all aspects of timber from sawmilling and home construction or crafting joinery and furniture.
